The surgeon cuts from hip to hip, just above the pubic area.
ii. The navel is freed from the surrounding skin with another cut.
iii. The skin is detached from the abdominal wall. The muscles beneath are tightened with sutures.
iv. The skin flap that was taken off the muscle, is now reattached. Any extra skin is removed and a new hole is cut for the navel.
v. Stitches are dressed and excess fluid is drained.

A partial abdominoplasty is another option if your fat is mainly in the lower part of your abdomen. In this procedure the navel is left intact. It is also a much faster operation.

Will a Tummy Tuck work for you?

The best candidates for adominoplasty are people in good shape, but with a fat deposit or loose skin that cannot be shifted by diet or exercise. Many mothers also benefit from the tightening of their stretched abdominal muscles.

Patients should be aware that permanent scarring will follow the operation, and should therefore be fully mentally prepared for this. Patients who may lose a lot of weight in the future should avoid the surgery, as should women who may at some point become pregnant.

Risks Involved with Abdominoplasty:

Risks Involved with Abdominoplasty:

Like any reconstructive or cosmetic surgery, abdominoplasty has risks. Before considering such a major surgery, a responsible plastic surgeon should discuss such risks with his or her patient.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons lists the following risks:

1. Scars, Clots and Infection

Post-operative complications such as infection and blood clots are rare, but can occur. Infection can be treated with drainage and antibiotics, but will prolong your hospital stay. You can minimize the risk of blood clots by moving around as soon after the surgery as possible.

2. Poor Healing or Rejection

Poor healing, which results in conspicuous scars, may necessitate a second operation.

3. Stop Smoking

Smokers should be advised to stop, as smoking may increase the risk of complications and delay healing.

4. Pay Attention to Your Doctor & Follow Up with Post Op Meetings

You can reduce your risk of complications by closely following your surgeon's instructions before and after the surgery, especially with regard to when and how you should resume physical activity.

Is there much pain associated with Abdominoplasty and what are the risk?

Is there much pain associated with Abdominoplasty?

The amount of pain from this procedure varies from patient to patient. During the procedure, you may feel some discomfort depending on the type of anesthesia used. Patients will often note some back discomfort due to the 45 degree positioning for 4-5 days after surgery however muscle relaxants are sometimes given to alleviate muscle spasms and for relaxation.
As with most surgeries, there is a bit of swelling involved with an Abdominoplasty. You must take into account that in an Abdominoplasty a lot of tissue is removed, so swelling is expected.

What are the risks?

As with any surgery performed under anesthesia, there are risks primarily because of the anesthetic and because of the fat and its surrounding tissues potentially becoming necrotic (dead tissue). If the fat becomes necrotic from a lack of blood supply, the fat tends to turn orange-ish clear and some may drain from the incision; although this is very normal. There will be fat damage, fluid retention, and blood-tinted drainage.
Although not permanent, a tummy tuck can last for many years and if there are no large weight gains, or pregnancies after the procedure then the changes will be relatively permanent. Certainly some relaxation of the tissues can reoccur but not to the extent prior to surgery

What should I expect post-operatively.

What should I expect post-operatively.

For the first few days, your abdomen will most likely be swollen and you may feel some pain and discomfort. You are usually able to walk immediately after surgery and are encouraged to do so 3 or 4 times per day for 1-2 minutes each time. However, you will more than likely not be able to stand up straight as the skin of the abdomen will be quite tight and you are usually instructed to remain bent over at least 45 degrees for the first 4 to 5 days after surgery. You may feel some strain on your back due to standing in the 45 degree angle for a little while. At the end of 4 days, the patient may begin to straighten up and by six days post-op, may or may not be fully straight.

Some stitches may be removed anywhere from five to seven days after the surgery and any temporary tubes that are used to drain excess fluid can be removed five to fourteen days post-op. Any deeper stitches will come out in two to three weeks. You should take it easy for at least two weeks after surgery as you will be on bed rest and advised to do a very small amount of walking. An abdominal pressure garment may also be placed around you during one of your post-operative appointments and you may be instructed to wear this for 3 to 6 weeks. Some swelling and discoloration are normal but generally this is minimal. Of course this is dependent upon the individual.

How is the procedure performed.

How is the procedure performed?
Some doctors use general anesthesia, while others use local anesthesia along with sedatives to make the patient sleepy. The surgery can take anywhere from two to five hours depending on the amount of work required. Most of the time, the surgeon will make an incision in the lower abdomen just above the pubis or can make a long incision from hipbone to hipbone. A second incision is made to separate the naval from the surrounding tissue and then the skin and fat is then dissected off of the abdominal muscles all the way up to the bottom of the rib cage. Sometimes, sutures are placed on the muscles of the abdominal wall to tighten one side of the abdomen to the other and thereby make the abdomen more firm. The skin above the belly button is drawn down to the pubis and sutured into position. A new hole is placed in the skin and the belly button is positioned in and stitched into place. Finally, the incisions will be sutured together, dressings applied and a temporary tube may be inserted to drain excess fluid from the surgical site

Ideal Candidate for Abdominoplasty.

Abdominoplasty, also known as a "Tummy Tuck," removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen surgically. An abdominoplasty or Tummy Tuck tightens the abdominal muscles that may have become stretched out or loose over time because of obesity, pregnancy or just due to age. Even though this is a common procedure, it isn't a simple procedure and you should be aware of the risks and post-operative care that will be needed.

Who is an ideal candidate for Abdominoplasty?

An individual must be in good health and not have any diseases or serious, pre-existing medical conditions and be at their ideal weight to undergo an abdominoplasty. In addition, the individual must have realistic expectations of the outcome of their surgery and be mentally and emotionally stable to undergo any surgical procedure. Communication with your surgeon is very important and you must be able to voice your concerns to your surgeon if he/she is to understand what your expectations are. Discuss you goals with your surgeon so that you may reach an understanding as to what can realistically be achieved. As with any type of surgery, a tummy tuck requires patience in dealing with the healing period. There can sometimes be a lull or depression after surgery and if there are already medical or emotional issues prior to getting a tummy tuck, this lull can develop into a more serious issue. Please consider this and other issues before deciding to go through with a tummy tuck.

Typically, women seek this procedure after pregnancy – however they are advised to wait until they have finished having children, because the skin and muscles can get stretched out again as well as the dangers of the newly taut skin being unable to accommodate another pregnancy. For those that are considering losing weight, you should wait until after your desired weight is met because you may need additional surgery to remove the excess skin after you have lost the desired weight.

Laguna Beach Abdominoplasty

Laguna Beach Abdominoplasty
Complications that may arise after Abdominoplasty.
Although very serious complication are not a common thing ,"normal" risks associated with any surgery may be there.there are risks with any surgery and specific complications associated with this procedure such as Bleeding,Infection,Puckered skin,Seroma,Skin necrosis or skin death etc. Visible scar or swelling may sustain for some time. If is stays for more than 4 weeks , it is considered wise to keep your surgeon updated on this.

Complications such as infection and blood clots are rare, but can occur. Infection can be treated with drainage and antibiotics, but will prolong your recovery. You can minimize the risk of blood clots by moving around as soon after the surgery as possible (immobility allows blood to pool and create a clot which can travel to the lungs, heart or brain causing a pulmonary embolism, heart attack or stroke).

One of the more common problems after an abdominoplasty is collection of fluid under the skin after the drains have been removed. Your surgeon can aspirate the fluid with a needle. The drainage stops within a month and will not affect the final results.

To reduce your risk of complications, carefully follow your plastic surgeon's instructions. With a cultural emphasis on education, most of these physicians have gone on to super-specialize in their field, enabling them to become experts in their respective medical specialties. The quality of medical
Further, most of the physicians that are in the GSS network, have had additional hands on training at leading medical centers throughout the US, Europe and other countries.

In addition to traditional medicine, India offers many more relaxing and rejuvenating treatment options from yoga, ayurveda, and meditation to allopathic and naturopathic medicine.

India also offers world-class travel destinations such as the Taj Mahal, the beaches of Goa, the backwaters of Kerala and hiking in the Himalayas to name a few.India is rapidly becoming prominent on the world map of tourism and is becoming one of the hot spots for tourists. Besides the language is not a problem as they English is the second most common language such that the patient will not face any problem whatsoever from the time he lands in India and even after "followups" long after he has left the country after the surgery.

What are the hospitals like in India?
In recent years, several private hospitals have opened up that are designed to provide world-class medical care in India. These hospitals utilize some of the best medical equipment that is available world-wide. A specific example of such a hospital is one located in Mumbai, which has been designed per guidelines from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, to ensure that they meet rigorous international standards. This hospital focuses on patient safety and comfort and has been designed in such a way that will minimize the risk of infection. GSS has carefully evaluated and selected only those hospitals that meet very high international standards to be a part of our network. Please visit our Hospital Network page for further details.

Will I be able to speak to the doctor in India before going on my trip?
Global Surgical Solutions will be happy to arrange a phone consultation with the corresponding physician in India and ensure that all of your questions are answered. If the individual still intends to go for the surgery , he/she can travel to a different country and take the surgery. The cost saving on such an operation is such that it will include the travelling and other costs as well.
Medical travel is becoming more popular, as more people realize its benefits. The main benefits of health tourism include getting the opportunity to travel to an exotic destination and reaping potentially big monetary savings. Many common operations overseas cost a fraction of what they might cost in the United States.
While travel isn't the first thing that comes to mind when contemplating going under the knife, going abroad for many medical treatments can actually be an incredibly beneficial experience. The term commonly applied to this kind of travel is medical tourism and as costs for even simple procedures rise, it's becoming an increasingly popular choice for people all over the world.

Medical tourism can also be a boon for those who can't get the treatment they need in a timely manner. In some instances, the wait for a major surgery can be as long as a year which isn't exactly a recipe for happy or healthy patients. These long waits are often a deciding factor for those who choose to seek treatment elsewhere, as in most countries where medical tourism thrives wait times are short or nonexistent. This allows patients to get the care they need sooner and at a time when it is convenient for them.

What kind of procedures do medical tourists usually seek?
There are a lot of different medical/surgical options for medical tourists. Primarily, medical tourists get elective procedures such as cosmetic surgery, hip and knee replacements, dental procedures, infertility treatments; any procedure that is usually not covered by insurance or has a long waiting time in their home country.

What are the cost savings for medical tourists?
The potential cost savings for medical tourists are huge and as a result are one of the more important factors in seeking treatment in India. It is important to note that the cost for each individual will vary depending on their need and requirements. Usually, an elective procedure such as a knee replacement would cost on average of $30,000 in the US. Whereas getting that same procedure done using similar quality parts in India would cost 40 - 60% less than the cost in the US, including the hospital stay, all procedure and physicians costs and transportation to and from India. This is mainly possible because of favorable currency exchange rates.

Beverly Hills Abdominoplasty 26 45

Abdominoplasty florida 26 45
25 Beverly Hills abdominoplasty 26 45

Abdominoplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure used to enhance the firmness of the abdomen.

This surgery involves removal of excess fat and skin from the middle and lower abdomen in order to tighten the muscle and outside of the abdominal wall. Women who have gained weight especially after pregnancy are an ideal candidate for the operation.

Abdominoplasty operations vary in scope and are often divided into categories. Depending on the condition of the patient and extent of the surgery, a partial abdminoplasty (Mini-Tuck) can take between 1-2 hours to complete the procedure. A complete abdominoplasty (Full Abdominoplasty) can take between 2 to 5 hours to complete the procedure.

Possible risks of abdominoplasty include:
It may leave a scar which may be permanent.
Infection
Fluid accumulation
Poor wound healing
Skin loss
Blood clots
Numbness or other changes in skin sensation
Anesthesia risks

These are usual risks that are associated with any operation not necessarrily with abdominoplasty alone.Although not permanent, a tummy tuck can last for many years and if there are no large weight gains, or pregnancies after the procedure then the changes will be relatively permanent. Certainly some relaxation of the tissues can reoccur but not to the extent prior to surgery

Connecticut abdominoplasty

Connecticut abdominoplasty,

Choosing a worthwhile surgeon is perhaps the most important part of abdominoplasty. In many cases, small drainage tubes will have been placed beneath the skin to help prevent fluids from accumulating. The procedure is usually performed after extreme weight loss or pregnancy, if the stretched tissue does not return to its normal shape. The extra sagging skin of the abdomen is removed and the skin of the upper abdomen is tightened. Tightening of the muscles and the removal of excess fat is also possible in the same procedure. During the procedure the navel is removed and then replaced into a proper position. There will be a scar between the hips, above the pubic hairline, and a hardly noticeable scar around the navel.
Each surgery carries its own type of risk and for further detailed information please make a thorough survey prior to the plunge.

Checklist to take care before going for Abdominoplasty

Have thorough knowledge of what you are going for.
Have you understood the probability of success and the probable consequences.
Understand the tradoff invovlved
Have you understood the cost involved in such an operation
Have you checked with the surgeon for the intricacy of the operation which depends on an individual basis.

State College Abdominoplasty

State College Abdominoplasty, Is a tummy tuck in your future? the individual needs to acquire information about this ever-popular, tried-and-true cosmetic surgery. After you are anesthetized, the abdominoplasty surgery itself will take from two to five hours, depending on the type of tummy tuck you are having done. In Dallas partial abdominoplasty is worth taking especially you want a quick fix to ur problem of "fatty" belly.Thousands of abdominoplasties are performed successfully each year. When done by a qualified plastic surgeon who is trained in body contouring, the results are generally quite positive. Nevertheless, there are always risks associated with surgery and specific complications associated with this procedure.
Post-operative complications such as infection and blood clots are rare, but can occur. Infection can be treated with drainage and antibiotics, but will prolong your hospital stay. You can minimize the risk of blood clots by moving around as soon after the surgery as possible.

Abdominoplasty Dallas

Abdominoplasty Dallas, Abdominoplasty, known more commonly as a "tummy tuck," is a major surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. The procedure can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen. The best candidates for abdominoplasty are men or women who are in relatively good shape but are bothered by a large fat deposit or loose abdominal skin that does not respond to diet or exercise. The surgery is particularly helpful to women who, through multiple pregnancies, have stretched their abdominal muscles and skin beyond the point where they can return to normal. Loss of skin elasticity in older patients, which frequently occurs with slight obesity, can also be improved.
Patients who intend to lose a lot of weight should postpone the surgery. Also, women who plan future pregnancies should wait, as vertical muscles in the abdomen that are tightened during surgery can separate again during pregnancy. If there has been scarring from previous abdominal surgery, your doctor may recommend against abdominoplasty or may caution you that scars could be unusually prominent.Abdominoplasty can enhance your appearance and your self-confidence, but it won't necessarily change your looks to match your ideal, or cause other people to treat you differently. Before you decide to have surgery, think carefully about your expectations and discuss them with your surgeon.
Dallas abdominoplasty , for that matter has better developed and is worth taking the option.Dallas can boast of a lot of surgeons that are good in this field.

Partial Abdominoplasty Fort Worth

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_x6dCACQsxOQ/R0ZhQPaQnzI/AAAAAAAAAAk/qeKwQBcUF7E/s320/abd3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5135899356705103666" />
Partial Abdominoplasty Fort Worth, Partial abdominoplasty is a very easy and quite a dramatic option to hard working professional who want to get a slimmer body to be agile enough to meet the demanding needs of the hardcore professional life. In Texas partial abdominoplasty is a reality and help is available at hand.
The plastic surgery operation known as partial or mini-abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), can be performed under local or general anesthesia and may last 1-2 hours. As the name mini-tummy tuck suggests, it is a less extensive operation than complete abdominoplasty, with fewer risks, smaller incision-scars and shorter recovery time, although the results on loose skin and abdominal muscle-tightening are less dramatic. However by the growing number of people opting for partial abdominoplasty, it is certain it is more viable option than its bigger counterpart complete Abdominoplasty. Both partial and full abdominoplasty produces excellent result, it depends on your requirement u need whether partial abdominoplasty in Texas or full abdominoplasty in Texas

Pennsylvania Abdominoplasty

In Pennsylvania Abdominoplasty is quite an option for women after pregnancy or for ladies who intend to give their body a fresh look. This is a surgical procedure where an incision is made near the pubic region.Your surgery may last anywhere from one to four hours, depending on the desired look and your unique physiology. To begin the procedure, Dr. Sorokin makes an incision just above the pubic bone area and extends the incision horizontally across the lower abdomen and sometimes around to the back. The skin is then stretched away from the muscle tissue, and excess skin is removed. Abdominal muscle tissue is tightened to provide a firmly-contoured stomach and well-defined waistline. Finally, Dr. Sorokin closes the incision by stitching the skin back into place. Sometimes the procedure requires an additional incision around the navel in order to provide the best results.

New Jersey Abdominoplasty

New Jersey: is a state in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions of the United States.

In Abdominoplasty New Jersey is having an edge since the place boasts about a good quality surgeons who are present here and therefore regarding Abdominoplasty, New Jersey is a viable option. In a sense, The tummy becomes more firm and attractive and straight rather than being lipid and a reservoir for fats.which is why it is also called Tummy Tuck. This cosmetic surgery removes the excess fat and skin and make it more turbid and attractive. An incision is made from hip to hip just above the pubic area. Another incision is made to free the navel from the surrounding skin. The skin is detached from the abdominal wall to reveal the musclesusing an incision. The muscle wall is tightened and the excess skin and fat are removed allowing the tummy to sink in and take proper shape more like the belly of a sportperson. However abdominoplasty has differrent degres of result on differrent person.Liposuction is often used to refine the transition zones of the abdominal sculpture. FeasiblityThe cost of a "tummy tuck" varies from country to country and even within locales of countries. As with most cosmetic surgery operations, the cost depends on a variety of factors like the age of the patient, their weight and the state of their health. Depending on the individuals, there may also be other costs involved after the operation. This does not include the follow-up visits as required by some doctors.
On average in the United States, this procedure can cost from USD$4,000 to as much as $20,000. The pre-operative and post-operative care, facility fees, anesthesia, and medications must be taken into consideration when reviewing surgery costs. No surgeries are a guaranteed success and therefore a second procedure or a touch-up may be required to achieve the desired appearance. These costs are typically not included in the original cost. Women in developed countries are increasingly embracing this procedure and the trend is expected to catchup in developig countries also. With the growing spening power of an average person in growing countries like China, India, Brazil etc this field has the potential to grow at breath taking speed. Abdominoplasty allows women to regain the lost confidence that comes from feeling good about yourself. This way this has a come to the rescue of those women who hesitate to rejoin office after pregnancy. Undergoing abdominoplasty will allow them to regain their youthful form and appear as much fit as they had been before the pregnancy.A good body is pre requisite to have a good life and abdominoplasty ensures that. This surgical procedure is here to stay.
